Rolling / Roadtrippers

A group of pro skateboarders embark on an RV road trip planning every stop on the Roadtrippers app. ‘Rolling’ is a testament to friendship and the adventure spirit.

Inspiration.

Growing up skateboarding, I inherited a sense of adventure and a kind of rebel ingenuity, which are essential for shooting fast-paced projects on the road. With travel at the heart of its business model, Roadtrippers was the perfect company to pitch this piece to. The aim was to show how the app and skateboarding work complimentary on a trip. I love the challenge of shooting on the go. It forces you to improvise; the location usually tells you how to film.

Process.

My first introduction to the Roadtrippers app was planning a cross country drive from Los Angeles to New York. My friend and I mapped out our stops with the app so I was eager to use it again in the planning of ‘Rolling’. The locations were chosen strategically according to scenery, landscape diversity, and places we thought would be interesting to skate.

Social.

I coordinated the social media strategy that included vertical asset curation and arranging company tags across all athlete channels throughout the trip to reach over 4 million people.
