Bound / Winnebago
An exploration of the pioneer spirit that follows a group of adventurers through the Pacific Northwest in the 2020 Winnebago Boldt.

Inspiration.
The pioneer spirit is deeply rooted in human beings. Since primitive times, our survival largely depended on the ability to search for and discover new lands. I conceptualized ‘Bound’ to be a modern day iteration of that same pioneer spirit, assembling a trusted crew of filmmakers and athletes to to showcase the 2020 Winnebago Boldt as the vehicle of choice for exploration and comfort; specifically, to promote its all-season travel capabilities. After months of strategic planning with Winnebago and the Barkley agency, we executed this ambitious project with a shared goal of inspiring an emerging generation of adventurers.
Process.
I used sketches, maps and storyboards to ensure a tactful shooting schedule once on the road. The 2020 Boldt is an incredibly engineered vehicle and each pit stop had to be just as iconic. From rock climbing in Mount Hood to jumping into hot springs in Utah, we were able to stick closely to the shot list. I used an 80/20 approach to the project. 80% planned, 20% flexible. There are certain shots you just can’t plan for on a fast paced road trip and this approach proved to work out really well.
Social.
In addition to shooting the film, part of the project model was geared around social media promotion and my crew’s combined social following of over 1.5 million people, which we utilized to tag @winnebagorvs and promote the endeavor from start to finish. Our tags and reach combined for millions of eyes on the Boldt vehicle. This is a series of Insta Story posts I curated for the crew to post when the film went live across brand and athlete channels.
